Audio Drift
I am editing a 56 minute wedding video event consisting of speeches, and it appears audio is out of sync while video is rendering. Audio was recorded on a Sony Z5U with a Sennheiser wireless on podium, and Sennheiser ME66 on camera, separate channels. I used FCP7 to ingest clips and then copied the files into FCPX. The Channel Configuration is Custom [L,R] and I changed to Dual Mono, then turned off the camera mic to cut room echo. Now I see (and hear) that the audio has drifted out of sync. I have placed a Cross Dissolve using Full Overlap between each clip. The original clips appear to be in sync when played from the Finder.
I have applied CrumplePo Finisher to all clips. I should note that the out of sync clips are still rendering. Clips at the head end that have already rendered look like they’re in sync. Is this a symptom of the image rendering? I should mention that I sent an email to Gabe at CrumplePop just as an observation that rendering is taking a long time. Gabe replied that Finisher is doing a lot of processing to each frame.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
