audio doesn’t work
Posted by Mari Lopes on January 20, 2008 at 6:51 pmHello There!
I’m new in this forum, and also a new final cut user, so probably will need loads of help and i’ll really appreciate you for that! 🙂The first one:
I have some clips recorded from a photo-camera and they play normally when using quicktime, but after imported into final cut they seem that the audio simply doesn’t exist. I’ve already saved the mpegs files into .mov, but still the same.
What should i do???
Thanks!

January 20, 2008 at 7:01 pmWhat Easy Setup are you using?
Ensure that FCP is set to playback the audio to the proper monitors. That is, either to your internal audio or to an external device such as your camera.

Format: PAL

Device control preset: FireWire PAL
Playback output Video: None
Playback output Audio: Built-in outputIs this what you’re asking?
Thank you very much 🙂

Yep.
Since you have Built In Output chosen, you should hear the audio through your speakers. If you don’t, make sure any other software that might use the speakers is turned off. Such as iTunes, Quicktime Player, DVD Player, etc…

So you don’t see any audio tabs in the Viewer? Then there is no video associate with that clip. You have a Video Only clip.

January 22, 2008 at 12:05 amIt might be a problem with the files, cause as i said before, when i play them using quicktime, they work normally – with the sound.
I tested importing similar files into the same project and all of them worked well.Thank you for your help!
I’ll be back! 😉
