Audio Distorted
Posted by Bernard Ageeb on October 21, 2007 at 4:04 pmI video taped a band last night. I ajusted my camera audio input, but the audio was still distorted. How can i fix it. Is there a pro audio software which can repair the clipping? Thanks in advance

Either way, I’m thinking that the distortion is still pretty bad.
If this was a rock band and you were close to the P.A. it was probably VERY loud.
iZotope just came out with a new program called iZotope RX that I’ve heard very good things about. The Declipper tool is the option you want to try.
It’s a $349 program that’s on sale until the end of this month for $199.
It’s currently a standalone app but they promise to have it available as a plug-in next spring.

If the audio was distorted at the camera when you taped it
there is no way to remove it. The software that was mentioned by previous poster will help you if your record level was a bit to high. If you pluged a line level board feed into your mic input your out of luck. To record directly out of a board into your camera’s mic input you need a “Line Level to Mic Level adapter”. If you recorded them using your camera mic and
it is distorting because the level got to high, software can help you.Regards, Rick.
