No, unfortunately it doesn’t help.

have the exact same problem, all project and cache files are on system drive, have been since beginning of project.

all media is on external drive.

audio drop-out happens ALL THE TIME – can barely edit.

seems to have gotten progressively worse over time as i did manage to edit most of the project just fine.

now that i’m fine tuning it, it just won’t play nice.

what a pain.

This seemed to help me but only for a few minutes, it then started dropping out again. I hate adobe, there coding is very low quality, AE was buggy for so long on the mac now this. This is confirming my switch back to FCP.

Exponential Fades between some of the audio clips.

Seems to be no rhyme or reason for the audio dropping out when one clip meets another. I’d be grateful if anyone has any ideas?

Hi Folks,

I don’t know if this helps anyone but I found a simple solution to my issue. Maybe it lasts, maybe not.

I copied the entire sequence from it’s H264 timeline and pasted it onto a ProRes timeline. Hit play and the audio dropping was gone. My A/V formats are listed above this post.

Hello Everyone,
I’m not an Adobe Premiere user, but I’ve stumbled on this thread after searching for a solution for my Macbook Pro (late 2013) audio drops during video playback.
I’d like to add an important fact about the described bug. This is not just happening with Adobe apps.
For a long time, I am seeing audio drops problems while streaming video using Plex to my Google TV. At first I thought this was a Wifi problem (since Apple acknowledged wifi problems fixed in the recent Yosemite updates), nevertheless, the problem still happens.
Today, this bugged me so much while watching a film, I connected my computer to the TV with an HDMI cable, in hope this will solve the problem. However, even with the cable, and using both Plex and VLC, the audio would still drop for a few seconds every once and awhile while video still kept playing.
In any case, I’m not sure what the cause of the problem is, but it seems it is not wifi related. Wish I knew more.
Any thoughts would be welcomed.

To everyone having issues with audio cutting out while playing in the timeline, try running task manager while you are playing through your clips in premiere. Is the hard drive % shooting way up? That’s what was happening for me, I am putting my project on a faster, mostly empty drive, and trying it there.

I think your scratch disk is getting full and not being able to cope with what is expected of it, Try making more space on your scratch disk hopefully you are not using the same disk as partitioned for Operating system and scratch disk. Use a small fast H/D for O/S and a large for scratch disk, the golden rule for any drive is never get it over 50% it is tempting but if you do it will screw up the allocation table quicker then needed and it will shorten the Hard Drives life, I would empty the cache regular.

The fix for me just now was to Export/Import a .wav of the sequence, then delete the redundant tracks. (just muting them didn’t resolve the issue) Obviously, keep a duplicate of your original sequence for safety.

Hi Guys,

In order to fix this problem it is super easy. Just find a mp4 to mp3 converter. Then import the video and the audio file separately and then align them.
