So it appears FCPX is without an audio crossfade transition.

I’m kind of stunned about this, especially as the work around seems ridiculously clunky and when I think of the amount of times I use that lovely little transition it makes me cringe at the hours of my life that are going to be frittered away on manually doing all my little tidy ups in the timeline.

So is there a method that I haven’t managed to find that is quick and easy?

Has this lack of audio transition been shouted from the rooftops and has anyone heard that it is being added?

I truly don’t understand the logic of not having this in an editing package. I get the handles are useful as and when you want to use them, but what on earth is the thinking behind not having an audio crossfade filter?

Was that member of the coding team on long term sickness and forgot to mention to someone else that they should do it?

Audio crossfade works exactly like secondary timeline transitions, i don’t see problems in that.

So there is a transition filter i can drop on 2 bits of audio butted next to each other and it will cross fade them?

great, then where is that transition filter? I just can’t find it. I found the Alex 4d one but it had to be placed on the video and that translates to an audio crossfade, that isn’t what I need or want to do. I want an audio crossfade transition so I can quickly and easily, you know, crossfade two audio clips.

    Cheers

Select the point of connection between two audio clips and press cmt+T

Excellent. Thank you very much, that does the trick perfectly.

When I try this in 10.0.8 I get a video transition. Is there another way that is quick to add dissolve to audio to get rid of clicks?
