    Folks,

Is it possible to use a usb control surface, such as the Mackie universal pro (https://www.mackie.com/products/mcupro/index.html) to play a timeline, and ride faders “live”, so audio keyframes are written? I did an internet search, but all I could find was using the Mackie with Pro Tools.
I seem to recall being able to use the Mackie (or Tascam) as a generic control surface. Meaning, I could map functions such as faders or pan pots.

Maybe I’m thinking of Final Cut?

Avid only supports Digi002, Command|8, Avid Artist Control and Avid Artist Mix. They used to support the Yamaha 01V (but not with flying faders) and some JL Cooper device, but I don’t see these listed in the Help files anymore.

I’ve never used it with Mackie, but FCP does support the Mackie protocol as well as EuCon. Look in the Tools>Control Surfaces menu. I have an Avid Artist Control and it’s very well integrated with FCP.
