  audio clipping when applying PITCH in FCP

  Hello.

  I am still making a shift into Soundtrack Pro, and would like to solve this issue still within Final Cut 6.06, which has been my place for editing sound and image so far.

  My problem is that I have applied a PITCH effect in the audio tracks, something like -100, nothing drastic, and I keep getting a CLICK (clipping?) within the clip being effected, sometimes at the begining of the speech. I have fidled with many controls of this effect, but none seem to eliminate the click, especially as long as I don[t stray too far from the -100 pitch change.
  Any tips for tweaking the parameters of this effect so as not to get the clicking?
