Audio clicks
FCP 4.5 OS 10.3.8 with the Kona 2 card on a G5 dual 2.5. I’m getting audio clicks between sound bites when I apply the AU Multiband compressor filter. I have tried smal dissolves and a mixdown (option-command-R) but the clicks stick. I can delete the render files and trim the edits etc, but have not found a way to eliminate them.
Anyone else…any tried and true solutions?

I have this audio clicking problem too as I put even a simple (+3 or +0 fade) dissolve in between clips. I noticed the pops after I rendered the audio. Then when I got rid of the rendered files, the clips became in their RT preview state (green) again, and they sounded fine. That’s the only thing that seems to work, but I don’t know if preview audio is what you would want for mastering to tape, although it sounds ok.

Yes, it is captured media…I cannot use the preview audio with two layers having the compressor…the dissolve has to be rendered and I need the dissolve to fix a sound edit.

Are you speakers coming out of the Mac or the K2 card? Should be the K2. Audio is downsampled to 44.1 on the built in Mac ports and can cause audio anomalies.
