I am trying to capture entire mini dv tapes to export for museum file use.

The CS4 program (unlike my old 6.5 at home) automatically stops the capture and creates a new clip everytime the audio source changes, i.e. when the audio changes from natural sound gathered by the camera’s onboard microphone, to the interview created by the microphone I plugged in.

How do I stop the program from stopping my capture? I want just one smooth 60 minute capture for each tape.

You could try turning off ‘Abort capture on dropped frames’ under Preferences/Capture. Not sure if that will help though.

That feature was not turned on. It is as if the manufacturer put in an automatic record stop when the audio source (nat sound from camera to plugged in mic) changes.

I’ve tried three different mini dv cameras.

I have 82 raw tapes to capture, then export as mpeg 4, for museum use.

    Thanks, Penny
