July 10, 2008 at 3:13 amAlright, capturing split channel audio with the PD-150 is impossible with PP CS3… Normal stereo works fine, but no split channel…
you can add the Canon GL2 to the list of cameras that experience this kind of anomaly.
Thank you Tim & Vince

July 21, 2008 at 2:17 amI had the same problem whit my pdx-10, so I made some test, recording audio on individual channels, on all possible modes and formats.
The result was:
DV SP audio 32K (12bit) both channels captured fine.
DV SP audio 48K (16bit) only captured Ch1.
DVCAM audio 32K (12bit) both channels captured fine.
DVCAM audio 48K (16bit) only captured Ch1.I captured the material with a Sony GV-HD700 deck, tried material recorded with other cameras, and in all those cases captured both channels fine.
So, if you need both channels, should start recording at 32k, or capture it via the analog output for the old material.

July 23, 2008 at 1:36 pmHave similarly been plagued by this problem and resorted to using 12 bit only for capture when using 2 mikes but today I was working with a sound guy using Mac and Final cut pro and we did a test with my PDX 10 and the stereo audio came through perfectly
I wonder if there is something I need to change in the Windows XP system I am using.Chris

July 24, 2008 at 7:57 pmAs a fellow PDX10 owner I have also felt the two channel pain for years. When I have to use both channels. I capture the tape with Scenalyzer. it’s not as slick but does the job.

July 25, 2008 at 1:25 amThanks for the input you guys- I appreciate it sincerely.
Can Scenealyzer do a batch re-capture for a PP CS3 project? I’ve got 5 hours worth to recapture into a project with that 2nd channel of audio.
Or is this a standalone program that does it own thing? (albiet successfully)

July 25, 2008 at 8:56 pmIt does it’s own thing. I wonder if you could do your capture in Scenalyzer, unlink all your clips in premiere and then relink each clip to its new counterpart. Certainly time consuming but perhaps easier that an entire re-edit.
Even more idealy would be to set up your naming convention in Scenalyzer to create identically named duplicates and then hide the original files. The next time premeire asked to find the media you could point it to the new clips. I don’t know if that would work or not. If I have some time this afternoon I will run a test.
