    Guys & Gals –

    I am stumped.

Recently I’ve encountered a problem capturing audio. I take my camera with my shotgun mic to a client, record v.o., bring it back and capture the audio. It is playing out of the camera and through my speakers just fine. But once I’m done capturing and I click on the clip – there’s a lot of static hiss, the volume of the v.o. is very low and garbled. The waveform is showing me that I’m getting great levels, but I certainly can’t hear it that way.

I’m capturing via firewire. I put another tape in and captured it – video & audio – no problems.

I switch back to this tape – and back to my problem. It happened to another tape as well, so I ruled out a bad tape. Thought it was a phantom power issue, but that makes no difference.

I’m completely stumped. What am I missing?

    Thanks,

    Trevor

Well, I decided to try one other idea by stereo pairing and VOILA! We have sound. Must of accidently clicked the audio toggle.
