Audio capture, is this the best way?
My 8mm film transfer project has no sound. Rather than add music I’m thinking of doing the following:
1. Make DVDs of the captures
2. Point my minidv camcorder at the TV screen at my mother’s house
3. Start the DVD and the camcorder and have my mom comment, narrate what she sees, name people, add details
4. Take the audio track from that session and add it as the audio track on the captured film
5. Repeat procedure on later captures with brothers and sistersIs using the camcorder the best way to record the audio?
Since I’m not saving the video portion and since it is just talking and not high dynamic range music, would there be a quality problem with reusing the minidv tapes instead of using a new tape for each audio capture session?
As always, thanks for the incredible help and information that everyone gives so freely.
