    Hello all

I am a longtime Final Cut user, yet I am completely stumped by this problem I seem to be having. Perhaps someone might know if I have accidentally selected some setting.

Whenever I do anything to the video clip that is linked to its audio, the Audio doesn’t highlight as well. Similarly if I blade the video part of a linked clip, only the video gets bladed, not the audio. Same goes if I just blade the audio.

Normally, obviously, when you select a linked clip both pieces highlight. This is getting very frustrating as I have to do every action twice.

On some occasions holding alt will work, but not always.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you all for the help you can offer,
    John

It sounds like you have to turn on “Linked Selection” in the timeline.

Hit shift and L at the same time.

It’s also in the Edit menu, Linked Selection.

And there’s a button for it on the timeline, in the upper right of the timeline.

    Hope that helps.

yeah sounds like linked selection, as dave said, (button on timeline next to snap button on upper righthand side)

    might also be locked tracks?
