Audio and Video Out of Sync from mini-DV capture
Hi:
I’m having a similar prob. to the person who wrote recently about this issue with capturing from VHS.
However, I’m capturing footage off of a Sony mini-DV tape. This is a new problem for me. What happens is the first 1/3 or 1/2 of the footage is fine when I play it back in the viewer, but later in the clip, it starts to go out of sync.
I’m working on a new MacBook Pro with FCP 6.0 and am dumping my footage onto a LaCie harddrive with loads of space. I’m using Capture Now to capture the footage.
I don’t know if this is related, but I am noticing an overall prob. with the footage captured from this project. It always ends up being a bit wonky after its captured into FCP–bleeps and blips in the video, ripples on screen–this is consistent througout the tape. Its not the issue I had with some other footage which I wrote about about a month ago– 12 bit audio hell–my camera settings have been a-o.k. since then.
I have disabled “abort capture on dropped frames” and the “optimized video” command…would this have anything to do with it!
Also–in terms of audio playback in FCP, should my setting be “Default” or “Internal?”
Can anyone please help?
Thanks-
Nicolle
