  • Audio and Video not matching up

I am in the middle of editing a video story in Premiere Pro CS4 at work. Just about when I got through half of my editing I noticed the video and audio weren’t matching up. The audio was ahead of the video. I checked to make sure all of the clips were linked and they were. Now when I look at the footage I imported in the source box I noticed that it is not matching up either. I am really frustrated with Premiere. Can someone PLEASE help?!?

What kind of footage is it and how was it captured?

I shot the footage with a Flip Video Mino HD. The camera automatically puts it in a mp4 format. And like I said it plays fine on the desktop but whenever I drop it into Premiere the audio jumps ahead of the video about half way through.

The .mp4 is the file format. The codec this camera captures is H264 I’m not sure how well would Premiere fair or even work properly for that matter with putting H264 files on the timeline, actually there isn’t a H264 preset for 30fps progressive (that is what the camera lists) but you could give it a shot with AVCHD 720p30.

I would think your best bet would be to convert the files to some kind of proper editable format in Media Encoder.
