  • Audio and Video 6 frames out of synch?

Posted by David Mack on November 5, 2007 at 2:17 pm

    Hi,

I’m using a multibridge extreme using driver 6.4 under WinXP. I’ve noticed a 6 or so frame delay between audio and video. So, for example, if I add a simple bars and tone (The one built into Premiere), I have to move the audio only 6 or so frames ahead to get it to line up with the bars. What on earth could be causing that?!?!!?! Anyone else had it?

I’m thinking of upgrading to driver 6.6 – can I do that straight from 6.4 or does 6.5 have a firmware upgrade?

    Hi David,

6 frame is unusual. Which video output and audio output are you monitoring from the unit?

You can go from 6.4 to 6.6.

    Hi Kristian,

I’m going out DVI to an LCD monitor for video and the analogue XLR’s straight to monitor speakers. Not sure what might have caused it (maybe an update or something) as it didn’t used to happen. I can’t figure out when it started as a lot of my work is pure animation with no sound.

    Hi Kristian,

Found it. Audio Hardware in CS3 preferences – I had Default Device set to “Premiere Pro Windows Sound”. With that setting, everything works, except with a 5-ish frame delay on the audio. Changing it to “Decklink Audio” as the default cures the issues. Thought I’d pop it here incase anyone else ever had the issue.

Thanks for you time in any case. Good to see you guys regularly jumping in to help people out.
