Audio Amplitude and Sliders
Hello All,
I’m working on an experimental short with a musician friend. I am wanting to trigger various effects with audio. And would like to build an easy(er) to use preset But some areas of the music was very quiet so the musician provided me with a click track (kinda like a metronome), that will be silenced and the music will be the audio. The problem is although the timing will be perfect there is no variance to the volume levels across the spectrum.
I’ve done this before with regular music soundtracks using both amplitude keyframes and soundkeys.
I was thinking a keyframe-able slider would be the ticket as i could increase or decrease the intensity with keyframes for different scenes. Problem is I can not get the slider to work with my expressions, even the simplest ones.
Typical example of the simple one is:
Audio amplitude is the keyframed click track, a texture over-layer set to soft light mode, with a threshold filter with the following expression
thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”)I cannot get this to work with the expression slider, and I’ve tried all different ways to attach the slider, watched tutorials and still no go.
Any Ideas or advice, I’m totally open to doing this a different way too.
This was probably as clear as mud, so I hope you get the gist.
Thanks in advance, Jim
