  Audio Advice for Final Cut Pro setup

  Hello and thank you in advance for any helpful advice.

  I would like to buy nice audio setup for my mac based Final Cut Pro editing system.

  Most of my films go to theaters, film festivals, DVD and the web. I want a setup that will give me accurate sounds, from highs to lows and base. Something that will give me a good idea of how my film will sound in these venues.

  As far as budget, what are my options?

  What about the optical port? What is that used for? Am I looking for system that’s digital audio?
