Audio
I am very new to FCP and have another problem.
After finishing a project and exporting I do not get audio when playing back on Quick time player on my imac, video is fine but no audio.
If when I export I check the “create DVD” box and burn to DVD I get audio playing. The audio is an MP3 file that I sent to Quick time player and saved so basically converted it.
Any ideas please……………….. -

You’re a bit all over with your post.
If you choose Export “Current Settings” You can then take the file and play that in QT and you will have A & V.
Now, you can take that exported file and drop it into Compressor to make DVD ready files.
You can import that file directly into DVDSP and IT will create the DVD files for you.
If you exported create DVD from FCP, does it make 2 separate files?
Where you doulbe clicking an mpeg file to play after the fact?Chris Tompkins

Thanks for your reply, yes I do get 2 files
one says m2v and the other ac3.
If I double click the m2v file I get just video playing in QT
You say Export “current settings” but where do I find this option? -

These are your DVD ready files. Video and Audio.
Bring those into DVDSP or iDVD or Toast and create your DVD.
File-Export.
De-select make Self-Contained and this will create a reference file for you.Chris Tompkins

Ah ha, that makes sense, as you can probably tell I am very new to FCP.
