Attempting to apply effects from 720p video to 1080p video
I shot a music video in 1080p a while back, and downconverted to 720P for the edit thinking it would make things go faster(won’t make that mistake again). The producer asked me to go through and blur out some middle fingers that appeared in it for broadcast, and I did that on the 720p version. But now we need to submit it in 1080p. If this was just a few edits I would redo them, but we’re talking about 43 blur masks that I painstakingly moved, frame by frame, over the hands…
I now have the 1080p version, with the blurs from the 720p version on top. Just wondering if anybody knows of a good way to upscale the blurs and move them into the correct part of the frame.

If the masks/blurs are on adjustment layers, then here’s my way of doing it:
Bring in the final 1080 clip in the 720 comp where you have the blurs.
Scale it down to fit the 720 size.
Copy the scaled down final clip and all the adjustment layers with blurs/masks.
Make a new 1080 comp – the length of the final clip.
Paste the scaled down 180 with all the adjustment layers in it.
Link all adjustment layers to the scaled down 1080 final.
Adjust size on the 1080 clip back to 100%.
You have now all the adjustment layers with masks in place for the 1080. -
