    Hi guys! Is it possible to attach an inpoint of a layer to an outpoint of another layer via using expressions or scripts? The first Layer is a VA layer, wich shall have a variable duration , the second layer is a composition with a fix duration. This two levels should always follow each other on the timeline without a gap or overlapping.

    Hi, Detlef!

    I think you can do this with an expression on the time remapping of the second layer.

    TIME-REMAP EXPRESSION:

    theStart = thisComp.layer(“VA layer”).outPoint;

    theEnd = theStart + key(2).time;

    t = linear(time, theStart, theEnd, key(1).value, key(2).value – .01)

    OPACITY EXPRESSION:

    if (time >= thisComp.layer(“VA layer”).outPoint) {100} else {0}

    (I have trouble sometimes with the copy and paste of the expressions periodically. If it doesn’t work for you, just type the expression in manually.)

    Hi Trent, wasn’t thinking about time-remap. Good Idea! Thanks a lot!
