Attach an arrow head to 3-D Stroke
Posted by Ryan Paterson on July 11, 2009 at 11:59 pmWas wondering if anyone knows a simple way to attach an arrowhead to the end of the 3-D Stroke path? I need to illustrate a graph animating upward while “riding the line”, was hoping to do it in 3-D space but it’s proving quite frustrating.

Particular Version has just been released and you should find it relatively easy to achieve what you want.Cheers

July 13, 2009 at 3:18 pmIt’s amazing how many times every day, “You need to buy Particular” is presented as the answer around here. For $400 you can put a huge tool in your quiver, no doubt. I wish my boss would buy Particular for me, too, but, over the years, I’ve managed to figure out hacks and workarounds for just about everything Red Giant’s tool can do or, in many cases, I simply redesign the piece to meet lower and more realistic expectations of what After Effects can deliver out of the box.

July 15, 2009 at 5:14 pmYou’d need to use a simple expression to link the position of your arrowhead to the position of the end point of the line. Open the path info to position. Open the position on your arrowhead and Alt-Click the stopwatch on it, then pickwhip to the end position of the line. See if that gives you what you need.
