ATI4870 crashes with Resolve. 5870 or Nvidia add-on?
I have an early 2009 MacPro with the Radeon 4870 installed. This card is not supported by Resolve and while it works mostly it sometimes gives me the screen of death and forces a completely new startup.
So to prolong my Mac Pro´s life instead of getting an iMac I though of getting either the 5870 as an upgrade from Apple, which should work fine with FCPX and Resolve.
Or should I leave the 4870 in as GUI card (and for FCPX) and add a Nvidia4000 as GPU for Resolve? Would that make more sense? -

Get a proper GPU card. ditch Apples recommendations.
