    Hi,

Cant quite work out which of the forums to post this on, if I got it wrong sorry.

I got a 8800 GT card for my Macpro1,1 2007 (so I can run FCPx) and it turns out there are two versions, I got the wrong one and it does not work.

I could get a 8800 GT that works with my Mac Pro but am thinking it probably makes more seance to get a 5770, I have heard works well with FCPx and Resolve Lite.

So, can anybody confirm this will work with my Macpro1,1 2007 with FCPx and that I will be able to use my two DVI monitors?

This post – https://blog.macsales.com/6856-owc-reveals-which-radeon-video-cards-work-with-2006-2009-mac-pros – looks like it will work.

Lastly (Bit OT I know, sorry) I am a little confused as t what connectors I would need with this card to connect 2 monitors with standard DVI, any insight would be great.

    Regards,
    Ben

PS I am a student so buying a new mac is not an option.

    Ben,

I’m running a similar setup. The 5770 works and no problem running FCPX or Motion. The card has a single DVI output and (I think) two mini display outputs. I’m using a mini display to DVI adapter for my second display.

Similar setup here. Works fine. Paul is correct about the 5770 configuration (single DVI and 2 mini). I’d suggest putting as much RAM in your MacPro as you can also.
