ATI Radeon for Resolve on older MacPros
This card sells for under $500 on the Apple Store.

And ATI Radeon cards inside a new iMac provides reasonably decent performance for Resolve especially after ver 8.1.
So, has anyone tried this card in a MacPro and what kind of performance can one hope to see. I’m debating this against the nVidia 4000 costing thrice as much. I’m trying to avoid the flashed nVidias as there’s no guarantee some future update in the OS or Resolve won’t break it.

Hi Neil,
tried an of the shelf 150 U$ PC version ATI Radeon 6870 (gigabyte) in a Macpro 8 core 3.1 2008
works out of the box without any problems, driver issues whatsover on 10.6.8
Rendering Prores 422 HD between 18 an 26 fps depening on the number of nodes in Resolve. (2 to 4 mostly)regards Frank
