    Don’t want to be sour grapes, but everyone should know that PCIe 2.0 cards & systems are forward and backward compatible. Intel, ATI, and Nvidia have designed these products to work with the older ones. The info is all over the internets. There’s no chance this would have damaged the card. That would be a crazy class action lawsuit waiting to happen.

    So it looks like Apple is purposely blocking users from doing this. Clearly the new Mac Pro firmware is set not to recognize older cards. They could allow it if they wanted to. But they don’t. I guess it might make sense given their unique business model. But it also makes them assholes.
