Anyone using or familiar with the AoE storage and networking applications from 2 degrees Frost and/or Small Tree? Is this sufficient for a 3 FCP workstation setup pushing DVCPro50? Using 1 GigE port or Aggregating 2 ports together? How is this AoE protocol being used in the marketplace? Any user insight to this would be appreciated.

Hey Rick, If your going to be using Gigabit Etherent, I’d have to recommend global SAN.

It’s a nice solution all packed up for one price, I’ve put in many Shared Area Networks and the thing that can hinder production the most are when things just are not working right together. This solution is awesome because It comes with everything you need to get it up and running, it’s easy to use, it’s fault tolerant so your protected if a drive fails, and has more speed than you can normally get out of setting up a typical NAS (or storage shared through a Server via Ethernet.) The speed increase comes from using iSCSI over etherent, this will give you plenty of bandwidth to cover DVCPro 50 over one ethernet connection.

Overall It’ll give you more time to be productive and creative and a lot less time being an IT department.
