Activity Forums Adobe Encore DVD assigning different layers to button phases

Is there a way to make layers respond to button phases (normal/selected/activated) without changing their colors? I could do this in dvd studio pro, which was great because it allowed me to put a slight blur/de-interlace on the text. However, when encore uses my layers, it fills them with solid color and I lose the blur/de-interlace. I’d rather encore leave it alone. Somehow I’d like to assign different layers to different button phases rather than have encore change a layer according to button phases.

For example, say I create 3 layers in a photoshop menu: block1, block2 and block3. Then I import the menu into encore and I want block1 to only show up when a button is in normal mode, block 2 to only show up when a button is selected and block3 to only show up when a button is activated.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Run,
it´s no good idea to use layered menus – not in DVD Studio nor in Encore. layered menus are behaving very slow and they are somhow critical on computers where parts of your menu could disappear.

so you better use the button-overlay-technique to create your buttons.

if your creating a BD that´s another story.

    cheers
