Hi, a show I edit just got picked up by a station that broadcasts in HD however they are allowing me to deliver in standard for a bit until I make the upgrade to hd. I have about 3 weeks and looking for the best work flow solution to make it look good on their hd broadcast which will most likely end up having the edge crop borders. I’m using Premiere Pro 1.5 still
and all my footage is shot on hd setting on a Sony hvr-z1u which I have been down converting for past shows.
Does anyone have any advice on if I should start my projects as standard ntsc dv projects or the widescreen option. And also would it be best when down converting from the camera to go with edge crop, letter box, or squeeze. Appreciate any feedback

    Hi Scott,

Sorry to not be overly constructive, but if I were in your position I would upgrade immediately. Then you’ll have more project options than those given by 1.5 (plus you’ll probably work faster with the newer interface in place since CS2)
