So… I have a 16×9 project that I have created in DVD Studio Pro 3. But for some reason when I put the disc in some DVD players, it centre cuts the menus. And then when you click on a button, the feature movie letterboxes. Why aren’t the menus recognised as 16×9 and also letterboxed when played on a 4×3 television?

What am I not getting here?

    HELP !

what do you mean by “centre cuts the menu?”

Did you design the menu’s with a 16×9 ratio
before resizing them to 720×480 for authoring?

Are there multiple video title sets in your project?

This allows 4:3 and 16:9 on the same disc.

There’s a check box in the general settings pane of the disc that says something like “if 16:9 is used…”. By default in DSP3 this is set to “Force to Pan & Scan” which zooms the centre section of your 16:9 menu. Set it to “force to letterbox” and it should solve the menu issue.
