Aspect Ratio Problems with Clips
FCP is misinterpreting my footage. I’m running a 2.5 GHz G5 with Tiger and FCP 5. I’ve just noticed something interesting with my Clip Viewer. My project has clips in two different formats: 16×9 and standard. All my 16×9 footage is peachy, yet my standard 4:3 footage differs. Many of them load into the clip viewer as they should at full 4:3 ratio, but others load into the clip viewer as if they were anmorphic (with the grey area at the top and bottom of the viewer as it does with true anamorphic material). It will display properly on my NTSC monitor, but the viewer insists on squeezing it down. I’ve compared all of my logging info with my properly displayed 4:3 and there are no variations between the two. This happen to anyone else? From time to time my project viwer will act up as well. Sometimes it has a blue scanline overlay and sometimes it will be solid green, even though it will display properly on my NTSC monitor.
FYI, The project is a feature in which, so far, I have over 800 clips. Many more to come. Is that too heavy for one FCP project?
