Aspect ratio issue with Vegas 11
I got Vegas Pro 11 today and am editing on going projects that I was cutting last week on Vegas 10. The aspect ratio of the clips themselves that I shoot on a Canon Vixia HF S21 is set to 1 and 1440×1080 resolution. I’m having to change it on every individual clip to 1.33. What could be going on? I don’t even know what Vegas 9 and 10 did with them with footage from the same camera since I never had this issue. Changing the project properties to the correct settings doesn’t fix the issue.
I tried playing the clips in Windows Media Player, and they play fine and in the correct aspect ratio. At this rate, I’ll just have to go through each clip and change the aspect ratio to 1.33 for every one. What’s going on?

Yeesh, and multicam editing is very choppy. Looks like I may upgrade graphics cards to get GPU acceleration.

I bought an Nvidia GeForce GTS 450. I think Vegas 11 was supposed to use my Radeon 6870 for GPU acceleration, but it never listed it as an option. It’s now showing the GeForce as what it’s using for GPU acceleration, but multicam editing, as well as adding any effects, slows things down to where playback is pretty much unmanageable. I regret switching this one project over to 11, and a second one. Thankfully most of my projects are still on 10, so for now I’m uninstalling 11 and going back to 10. I sent an email to Sony technical support about it, and until it’s all fixed, 11 is a big step back for me.
