Aspect ratio issue with exported frame from timeline
Hey all,
I’m having a small issue with exported frames from the timeline.
Basically I export frames in JPEG to use as reference to do some title/graphic work in AE.
My issue is that because my footage is HDV 1440 x 1080 with a pixel aspect ratio which is not 1.0, the video plays back at 1920×1080 (which is correct). When I export a frame the image is at 1440 x 1080 so its squeezed in and looks more square. How can I get around that ?Thanks !

Try exporting as 1920×1080 with square pixels.

But the problem is that there is no menu option for that when you export frame. Unless you export media. But then I don’t know what to do to export the one single image. Because if I select JPEG or TIFF it will make a movie of JPEGS.

The same result can be achieved by creating a new sequence at 1920×1080 with square pixels. Either copy over all the clips, or just nest the old timeline into the new sequence and export using the desired settings.
BTW, which CS release are you using?

If you open the 1440×1080 image in Photoshop, you can then simply change the size to 1920×1080 and re-save. Make sure that “Constrain” is turned OFF when you resize.
