I’m having a problem bringing in animation into FCP, printing to BETA SP and have the aspect
    ratio comprimised.

I have rendered out my animation as 720×486 square pixels, and Animation codec.
When I bring it into FCP to print it looks fine on screen but when I play it back on the BETA that I have printed it looks like it has been squished from the sides.

    Any thoughts?

I changed my square pixels to DV/NTSC but it comprimises the quality of the animation.

720×486 is not square pixels and therein lies the problem. It should 720×486 with a ratio of 0.9 for 4×3 or 1.2 for widescreen.

if you want to create square pixels it’s 720×540 then squish to 486.
