  • aspect ratio for DVD WIDESCREEN menus?

I need some help to confirm the proper aspect ratio I need to work on for DVD Widescreen menus. The standard screen I am used to working on has me creating my screen on 720×540, and resizing to 720×480 for final output. I have come across different information, but I need to know, what is the definitive dimension (in square pixels) that I need to work on in photoshop, and what would I need to resize my screens at, if at all? Photoshop has a preset for 864×486, but I have read from others that it should be 854×480, to be output as 720×540. I am very confused. This is NOT HD…just standard widescreen.

In PS, go to file>new. Select NTSC DV from presets, and select NTSC widescreen 1.2 from the pixel aspect ratio pull-down menu.
