Aspect Rasio question
I can’t figure this out.
I know that “frame size” is the hight and width of a single frame. I know that “frame rate” is the amount of frames that fly by per second when viewing a movie. I also know that aspect rasio is the relevence between hight and width… how much wider the picture is then tall. What I can’t figure out is when I see: widescreen (16:9) PAL. Now, PAL is still 720X576, so what happens when you make it 16:9? How does 576 vertical lines get spead out over a widescreen while I understand that in digital video, you don’t “see” more information (more pixels) like you would with film. I understand the pictures on widescreen that you sometimes see “squished” but sometimes you see widescreen very nicely. )of course with black bars on top and bottom).
Thank you.
