ASIO driver crashing premiere – please help!!!
I recently upgraded to snow leopard, and reinstalled my apps etc. however Premiere wont launch now at all. error reads:
The previously selected ASIO driver could not be loaded, and may be in use by another application. The default ASIO driver is now in use.
I select OK and immediately ‘a serious error has occured’ and Premiere crashes!
I’ve contacting Adobe about this and their dull response was ‘try reinstalling the software’ which I have since done yielding the same effect.
also scanning the forums people keep saying to go into an option within Premiere to change the driver yet I cant even get that far as the program crashes on me!can anyone tell me what as ASIO driver is and hopefully a solution so I can get back to editing PLEASE!!!

Also, question #2. do you think Adobe makes these programs like Premiere pro 2 to automatically start degrading in their quality and performance after 2-3 years so customers HAVE to buy the upgrade??
PP Pro 2 does everything I need it to do, when it works properly, so I hesitate to buy CS3 or CS4 unless I HAVE to, or unless the quality of the program is VERY MUCH better.

I have the same problem, what can be done?
I have XP pro, PP Pro2, and have audio issues. Is this driver related to the problem?

aplolgies for the delay – have been off the cow for a while. I contacted adobe and msn chatted with their tech guys, did everything they instructed, reinstalled 3 times = nothing.
I ended up having to format my drive, reinstall the OS (mac) and start from scratch.
now at least it works – but an epic mission. re: your second question, it wouldnt suprise me in the least.
