Hi people
OK, I am well confused and in a quandry. I am based in England but doing a job for some Asian clients. We have received some Microsoft Word documents which we have had translated into Simplified Chinese. When I copy and paste a small passage of Simplified Chinese text from Microsoft Word into Illustrator CS2 and then alter the font, to the font our client has specified (we cannot change this font) some of the characters are being replaced with a question mark. What is causing this?
Just to help, I have tried a few other copy sources (Text Edit, Pages, Preview (using .pdf) and Mail) and have tried to paste into Photoshop and After Effects as well as Illustrator and the same problem occurs. Another addition is that we know our Asian clients have managed to get Illustrator to read the problem character.
Can anyone out there help?
