Asian characters in my Mediafiles
I am importing XDCAM proxies and noticing all my files have asian characters in the filenames. I’ve noticed this issue was raised before at the 6.0 release, but thought it had been fixed.
Are there any known downsides to this? I am working in an environment with other MC 5.5 editors. Is there any fix? Should I be downgrading my MC immediately to 5.5 before embarking on injesting hundreds of hours of content for my TV show?

This cropped up last week on another project in the same facility I was working with. The system was not running v6… It was running 5.03.
They were having media database problems due to the Asian characters. Deleting those characters from the file name fixed the issue. Because there were many files, they used a program that automated the process.
