Artifacting- After Effects
I’m creating titles for a movie in AE. I’ve tried everything, but there is still artifacting in some letters- especially the slanted letters like “M” or curves, like “S”… Here is what we’re doing
– The text is created in AI
– Comp- 2k.
– Bringing it in to AE as composition.
– Resizing (scaling up) the text – Switching on the collapse transformation.
– Exporting with Alpha- Apple Prores 4444.The file is 2k- looks okay on my laptop… but when brought in to color correct (Apple Color)- the edges look jaggedy. I even tried to just make text layers in AE instead of importing form AI. Still same issue- it’s less visible, but it’s still there.
What are we doing wrong?

I downloaded the file, but i see no jagged edges. I see a clean…well, all the letters are clean and sharp 1080.

you’ll often have trouble with red over darker backgrounds (or dark over red) with yuv codecs… it has to do with how red is generated from the yuv components.
to test if this is the issue, you can try either using a different color for the text, or a different brighter background (or brighten up the area of you shot where the red text is over).
