This is more of an observation… Perhaps some of you others might want to test this.

Getting my arrows to start and stop has been a problem using Spline Wrap & Cloner. The Offset function works great for the animation if your arrows are on screen all the time.

But lets say you want arrows to appear one after another at a specified point and then continue along an open spline at specific intervals, all whilst deforming.

Well unless I’m missing something, I don’t know if you can achieve this with Cloner and Spline Wrap.

My next idea was to create one Arrow/Spline Wrap and stick it in an emmiter ( Size 0.0 Speed 0).

Well, this works perfectly if I use the Path Deformer Plugin inside an arrow dropped into the emmiter . I get one after another. Exactly as planned.

But for some reason it doesn’t seem to work with the Spline Wrap/Arrow. Same emmiter, same offset parameter setting in Spline Wrap. If I take it out of the emmiter, I see my arrow make one pass along the spline. I drop it in the emmiter and I get nothing, nada, nil.

I’d be interested in finding out if anyone else can make this work.

    Thanks

You need to convert your objects in “real” geometry by using another object. I still prefer to use DiTools’ DiJoiner, but R10’s Connect object should do the same. Thing is, MoGraph obnjects, geometric primitives, particles etc. are “generator” objects that cannot be manipulated using deformers of any kind. Only polygons and splines can. Said tools will fool C4D by giving acces to the polygons of the cloned objects for instance.
