Areca 1880 Degraded RAID 6
Hello,
I just setup my Areca 1880 RAID card as a RAID 60 (two RAID 6). One drive failed. One of the RAID 6 set’s is now degraded. I just received the RMA Replacement. How do I go about rebuilding it? Also, I used 4K Blocks. Or should I have used 64Bit LBA? It is an iSCSI Target and stores about 30TB of my content libraries.

if you are configured for RAID 6, it’s easy, if you have not turned off your array. You simply pull out your bad drive with the power on, and pop in the new drive, and it will automatically rebuild.
If you have turned off your computer in the process, it may not automatically rebuild, and you will need to go into the MRAID utility, and assign the replacement drive as a hot spare, and then it will rebuild.Bob Zelin
