Are there Media Manager issues on Macbook Pro?
I’m trying to export a sequence to go to a trailer house. I only want to give them my rough edit with about a second of handle on either end. But Media Manager keeps wanting to export everything. I took my project to an Apple store and did a one-on-one. The trainer and I did the exact same step but his Media Manager’s modified was less than the original. My Modified is exactly the same as my original. I’ve trashed my preferences and nothing changed. The only time my Modified is less than my Original is when I choose recompress. But that’s not what I’m trying to do. I just want to copy.
Is there a setting I’m missing? Is there an issue with Macbook Pro? Or am I doing something wrong?

Have you clicked on the “Delete unused media” checkbox in Media Manager? If not that’s the problem.

Yes, I checked “Delete unused media from duplicated items. I’ve checked and unchecked everything and in every case my Modified isn’t any different than my Original. I’m using FCP 7.0.3.

Try trashing FCP preferences, and give it another go. Also be sure to only be selecting that single sequence…

Does your footage have REEL numbers? If not, FCP can’t trim it.
