Are there a good benchmarks for Quicktime Pro?
Posted by Gary Taylor on January 15, 2006 at 2:40 amDoes anyone know of any good benchmarks for QuickTime Pro that could be used to compare the new IMacs rendering performance with a G5s?
Thanks,

Hi Shane,
The new iMac’s are Dual Core (Dual processor).
The big issue is software. Is QT Intel Native (not yet I don’t think) and if so has it been optimized as well for Intel as for G5?
Best Wishes,

Probably is. Mr Steve claimed that all software shipping with the new machines is native.

Hard to say, as QT for windows (and thus some of the Intel specific code has been written earlier) has been out for years, I guess it isn’t too bad.Maybe it’s even pretty good.
All the apps that were demoed are QT heavy apps.
