I know that the older emitters are to small so you have to resize them. Are the new emitters ready for HD 1920×1080 resolution

And how< can i resize the old ones. And when did the bigger emitter started (which emitter release)

The emitters are’nt HD or SD. The first thing you need to do is to set your Project size to what your require. At first the particles seem smaller than usual. Then simply adjust “Size” and “Zoom” in the properties. 1280 x 720 works great for me.

    Craig, wonderfully quick reply

    I’m exporting out of Edius @ 1280 x 720

What type of file does PI like to work with ?
I seem to remember something about uncompressed AVI – is this correct ?

Thanks Again for the quick reply Craig. I’m revisiting PI again, and had forgotten what a lovely little program it is. Going to be pushing the button on V3 after using SE so successfully in the past.

I edit in Sony Vegas Pro. From PI I render out to uncompressed AVI if I want to use the Alpha channel which is almost all the time. In the render otions select “Save Alpha” and check the “Remove black from BG…….”. Then I import that clip as an overlay in Sony Vegas.

‘From PI I render out to uncompressed AVI if I want to use the Alpha channel ‘

And why not using the lossless Lagarith codec?

I can’t get Lagarith to work on Win7 64bit. If you have let me know.

    What about HuffYUV?

If uncompressed works for you then I guess no reason to change. It doesn’t work for some people with pI3 for some reason though.

I can get Lagarith to work from PI but I can’t get Sony Vegas to read the alpha unless I make the video track to “composite mode” and select “+”. I can’t see huffy to work from PI. It could be that it’s written for 32bit.

To see the transparancy of the event with the Lagarith codec, just add the event to the time line and right-click on the event. Selecting the PROPERTIES option allows you to select the right transparancy setting for this event
