  • Are Photoshop Filters in After Effects?

Hi There. I am looking at making a short film where I would be exporting individual frames from premiere into photo shop to add a couple of filters (poster edges and cutout). I was wondering if after effects had these filters as it would save me heaps of time to be able to do a whole clip at once rather than frame-by-frame. Thanks 🙂

Man, adding the poster edges and cutout filter is great.

I also have been using this combination and was hoping that these filters would be in AE. I have 5.5 and so far I haven’t found anything.

I did export a short clip as an image sequence and run those 2 filters on the images, automated of course with actions, and I was not happy with the results. The cutout filter was not consistent, so pixls in the background moved around unevenly. It defintly has potential but no way to do it in AE as far as I know

Have you tried other filters in AE’s effect>stylize menu?

If they don’t work, you could render an image sequence from AE then do a batch operation on the sequence in PS. Quick ‘n’ easy.

I have had pretty good luck just copying the filter files from PS over to the AE folder. Most of them work just like they do in PS.

PS filters don’t work in AE 6.5, unfortunately.

Did they work then pre 6.5?
