I’m lighting a green screen and I bought a couple of 1000 watt Halogen lights to light it. But when I read the warning lable it said “do not light person derectly” and I was just wondering if that meens for an extended amout of time or if I could use tham for a little while?

As far as I know most of the studio lights are halogen. The only thing I can remember my teacher in the school told me was to never use a halogen without the protective cristal. Since sometimes -not often anyway- halogen lamps can explote and hurt somebody, specially in the face and eyes…Otherwise I have used loads of different halogen lamps without a problem. Yes, if you keep looking at them more more than a few minutes anybody can get their eyes injured:)

If they are for lighting the greenscreen you wouldn’t be lighting the person with them. You light the screen and the talent separately.
