    Hello All,

I am curious how everyone manages their projects. I am an amateur Vegas user and am trying to learn the ropes. Projects are taking a significant amount of my disk space. Is there an archive option in Vegas?

I found that I can “save as” the project and copy all of the media files. This seems to be an effective way to move the project media from my primary HDD w/o affecting the directories to the media created by Vegas. It appears Vegas adjusts its directories to the new save location. I am contemplating backing up to Blu-Ray discs but some of my projects exceed the disc size. I guess I can break up the project files manually, but I was curious if there are other archiving/storage options in Vegas.

What you’ve already found is what Vegas Pro has to offer (i.e., save as with copy).

I have a 9TB RAID 5 that I archive my projects to and then those get backed up to individual hard drives. This way I always have 2 copies. The only projects on my editing drive are the one’s I’m currently working on. I also archive all of my raw camera footage in it’s original format by copying the root folder of the camera card to both the RAID 5 and a separate single drive that’ different from the project archive drive.
