    At the moment we are archiving our video to firewire hard drives. It this a common way of doing this? Is there a better way? If hard drives are used, which brand it most reliable. We have had horrible luck with LaCie drives.

    Hm….what if you just kept the tape on which the video was shot. Archive the project, but not the media. Thats what we do. Original is better as far as we’re concerned.

    I’ll second that. Keep the tapes and the project file. That is all you need.

    Oh…and the pictures, graphics and music. Those you can probably fit on a DATA DVD.

    Now…when the Panasonic P2 comes out, and captures HD to Hard Disk only…THEN I will be using drives as archive masters…
