Archiving FCP project folder to send
Hi I want to archive an entire FCP project folder to reduce the file size and send it over Dropbox (to avoid getting a hard drive & mailing it). The original folder is 140GB. I tried to Archive it by control-clicking and it came out to 140GB .zip file again. It didn’t really accomplish anything. Is there another way to do this?

Use hditutil in Terminal to make a disk image of your project folder. It will be the same size. Then use hdiutil to segment it into tiny 100M pieces to make uploading and downloading easier. It will take a long time, depending on your internet connection. The re-assemble double-click on the first piece and the DMG will be re-assembled!
